InnProBio

Forum for Bio-Based Innovation in Public Procurement

After 3 years the EU funded H2020 project InnProBio, which was co-ordinated by FNR, finished at the end of February 2018. The project aimed at building a community of public procurement practitioners interested in the procurement of innovative bio-based products – products that are wholly or partly derived from biomass – and their associated services.

During the project lifetime the consortium organised several market dialogues and workshops to bring all actors, i.e. public procurement practitioner and supplier of BBPS, together. Further, the consortium prepared a number of tools, which are supposed to help and support the public procurement practitioner. The tools prepared consists of a series of factsheets, text blocks for tenders and more. All tools are available online at the InnProBio-Toolbox.

Two of the most important results of the project are the ‘InnProBio-Toolbox’ and the ‘Handbook on the Public Procurement of Bio-Based Products and Services’. The toolbox and the handbook are available in EN, DE, NL and PL.

Within the Agency for Renewable Resources (FNR) there is a national procurement project which will support public procurers also in the future. Contact and further information regarding the public procurement of bio-based products and services are available under: NR im Einkauf.
