IEA AMF Newsletter 3-2021

The most recent issue of the newsletter of the Advanced Motor Fuel Technology Collaboration Program (AMF TCP) of the International Energy Agency (IEA) was published at the end of December. This edition contains contributions from North America, Europe and Asia and outlines the global developments in advanced and sustainable transport fuels.

The issue puts a spotlight on electric vehicles and aviation. For instance, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Super Truck 3 program will fund five projects with a combined $127 million. Moreover, the issue reports that an Airbus H225 has performed the first-ever helicopter flight with 100 % sustainable aviation fuels powering one of the Safran Makila 2 engines. Finally, readers are encouraged to read the IEA World Energy Outlook 2021, which provides critical analysis and insights on trends in energy supply and demand.

Furthermore, the newsletter provides information about the latest results from IEA AMF tasks, including the announcement of the development of a new task focusing on end-use aspects of electro fuels. The issue also includes a comprehensive list of upcoming advanced motor fuels events.
