Allthings.bioPRO

Game Changer for the bio-based economy

The aim of the project is to enhance citizens’ awareness, participation and co-creation towards bio-based products and the bioeconomy. By developing a serious online game, the project will not only offer information and education for the broad public, but will also generate anonymised data on personal preferences, opinions and ideas on the further development of the bioeconomy. The FNR, as project coordinator, will develop various thematic materials and is responsible for the communication of results.

Informing citizens about the bioeconomy and bio-based products is a big challenge, as is including peoples’ input, opinions and specific interests into discourses about this topic. The FNR participates in numerous national and European projects and initiatives to achieve this goal.

In the new project Allthings.bioPRO, a serious game will be developed to foster citizens’ awareness, participation and co-creation regarding the bio-based industry. In the serious online game, information and education will be offered to a broad public and at the same time, data on personal preferences, opinions and ideas on the topic of bioeconomy will be gathered. The results will help stakeholders to meet consumers’ expectations and requirements when developing their products. Allthings.bioPRO will collaborate with citizens on a local level. Main topics will include bio-based food packaging, sustainable fashion, sustainable bio-based products for kids and schools as well as job and careers in the bioeconomy.

Allthing.bioPRO can be understood as a follow-up project to BioCannDo; therefore, the platform www.allthings.bio with innovative communication formats will be used and further developed. Moreover, we will develop a smartphone app with an easy to use visual interface, which will help to inform users about the vast variety of bio-based applications and products in our daily life.

Towards the end of the project, interested citizens will have the possibility to join a Citizen Action Network that will develop opinions and positions of citizens on bioeconomy related topics on a regular basis.
