The German Ministry of Food and Agriculture recently pronounced that a new Centre of Competence for Forest and Wood will be established at the Agency for Renewable Resources (FNR). The German Forest Strategy 2020 and the Climate Protection Plan 2050 call for enhanced information and communication related to sustainable forestry and intelligent use of wood. Hence, the new centre shall appose related expertise under one organisational umbrella.
For 25 years the Agency for Renewable Resources has been managing the German financing scheme for renewable resources on behalf of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture. The agency further provides professional and public information related to the Bioeconomy and bio-based products to multiple target groups. FNR is an excellent resource for expertise in the field of forests and wood and has long-term experience as services provider and project executive organisation in this area. Since 2016 FNR is leading the operative management to implement the German Forestry Days and the German Charta for Wood.
