On 10 October, 2018, a delegation from Taiwan visited FNR in the frame of an informative trip focusing on the use of pig manure for biogas production and good practices in Germany and Denmark. Among the delegation were representatives of the Taiwan Association of Environmental and Resource Economics (TAERE), Prof. Huang, the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA), Mr Wang and Mr Ye, and the Taiwan Tip Top Consulting Company, Mr Chu. Whilst FNR, Mr Kerckow, Dr Vashev and Dr Baumgarten, gave an insight into its tasks and activities as well as to a general overview to bioenergy and biogas utilisation in Germany. Dr Engler, University of Rostock, introduced the DBFZ biogas plant in Leipzig. Mr Pellnitz, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, presented the legal framework related to pig breeding and the use of pig manure in Germany.
