4 Mio € of public funding are available for this joint call from funding bodies in Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland and Switzerland.
The call “Biomass as an important pillar within energy systems and the circular economy” is a Joint Call of the ERA-NET Bioenergy and the ERA-NET COFUND Bioenergy Sustaining the Future (BESTF3) and aims to support innovative, collaborative pan-European, R&D&I projects, which contribute to a safe, environmentally friendly, reliable and economical energy supply.
Funding will be offered to excellent R&D&I proposals that provide clear added value through cooperation of partners in at least two (preferably more) participating countries. Novelty beyond the state of the art in the bioenergy value chain addressed must be significant, and evidence of exploitation potential must be provided (e.g. by way of tangible industry commitment).
The submission of proposals follows a 2-step procedure. Step 1 is the pre-proposal phase. Consortia that pass the first evaluation stage will be invited to submit their full proposals. The closing date for pre-proposals is on 16.01.2018, 13:00 CET.
On 29.11.2017, a networking webinar will be organised to give researchers the chance to interlink with each other and build consortia. Draft project ideas and partner needs have to be sent to the call secretariat beforehand. More information can be found in the official call text.
Projects are expected to start in early 2019.
