The COASTAL Biogas project focuses on the removal of excess nutrients from the Baltic Sea by collecting und utilising cast seaweed from beaches. With this approach, eutrophication in the Baltic Sea will be tackled on one hand and, by utilising the marine biomass for biogas production, the project contributes to the transition towards a circular bioeconomy on the other hand.
One of the aims in COASTAL Biogas is to inform people about the whole process chain – beginning with reasons for and effects of eutrophication and finishing with the use of digestate (residue from biogas production) as organic fertiliser on farmland. Therefore, the COASTAL Biogas project team is proud to present the COASTAL Biogas Information Kit, which is now integrated in the project website and available in six languages. You will also find a list of interesting websites that are connected to the topic. If you think that your website should be also listed, please let us know!
The FNR is lead partner and responsible for the overall project coordination.
Project duration: 1.07.2018 - 30.06.2021
