The project, “Advancing Sustainable Circular Bioeconomy in Central and Eastern European countries” (BIOEASTsUP) is funded through the European Research and Innovation programme Horizon 2020, andstarted on 1 October 2019. In the next three years, the consortium will consist of 21 partners from 14 different countries, and will support 11 Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries, which are members of the BIOEAST initiative, in order to develop their national bioeconomy strategies and action plans for the transition to a sustainable bioeconomy.
The Agency for Renewable Resources (FNR) will support the preparation of national inter-ministerial platforms for the bioeconomy strategy development. Two types of working groups will be set up: a BIOEAST Ad-Hoc Inter-Ministerial Group, and the BIOEAST National Thematic Working Groups in each partner country. Within these groups, consultations with the relevant public institutions will be organised. Furthermore, they will facilitate dialogue with various stakeholders. FNR is also involved in the preparation of a joint Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) for the BIOEAST initiative. Additionally, FNR will develop the exploitation strategy for the project.
