This year, the 28th EUBCE - European Biomass Conference and Exhibition, organised and hosted by ETA Florence, takes place on 27‑30 May 2020 at the Chanot Convention and Exhibition Centre in Marseille, France, expecting up to 2,000 participants from more than 80 countries. The EUBCE is the most frequented international conference in the biomass sector. For more than 30 years, it has been serving globally as the annual meeting point for international biomass experts from research, development and the industry. Hence, functioning also as key event for the Agency of Renewable Resources (FNR). The conference programme addresses topics from biomass to bioliquids and biofuels for heat and electricity, transport and biobased products. It covers all aspects of each value chain: from supply and logistics to conversion technologies, from industrial application of research results to impacts on the environment, from market and trade aspects to policy strategies, not least to the role of biomass as a source in integrated energy systems.
The FNR is an official supporter of the EUBCE. Also this year FNR will have a booth in the exhibition area and will inform about FNR’s national and international activities, as well as about funding opportunities and updates related to bioenergy and bioeconomy issues. (More information on: www.fnr.de)
In addition, FNR organises two workshops at the EUBCE on Tuesday, 28 April, 2020 which are related to the FNR coordinated, H2020 funded project ADVANCEFUEL. The first event in the morning will be a joint workshop with two other H2020 funded partner projects, MAGIC (magic-h2020.eu) and BioMonitor (biomonitor.eu), and will explore what policy adjustments are needed to achieve increased biomass utilisation for a low-carbon bioeconomy. The 2nd workshop follows in the afternoon and will present and discuss “RESfuels pathways contributing to the Paris agreement in transport”. Furthermore, different experts from the ADVANCEFUEL consortium will present some of the key project findings at the main EUBCE conference sessions.
All conference attendees are invited to visit us at our booth and to learn more about FNR and other European and international collaborations, i.e. EU-projects, i.e. H2020, Interreg, BBI-JU, or panels, i.e. IEA Bioenergy, IEA AMF TCP, GBEP, we are involved in.
