COASTAL Biogas held its first steering group meeting 22nd of November 2018 in Gdansk, Poland. The project is coordinated by the FNR and is funded by the Interreg South Baltic Programme.
The meeting was hosted by the Polish partner Gdansk University of Technology (GUT) and representatives of all six project partners attended: Agency for Renewable Resources (FNR), DE |Gdansk University of Technology (GUT), PL | Baltic Energy Innovation Centre (BEIC), SE | Roskilde University (RUC), DK | University of Rostock (UROS), DE | Lithuanian Energy Institute (LEI), LT.
During the meeting, each project partner presented their progress in work packages since project start in July 2018. The aim was to elucidate crosslinks between work packages and to develop a project process diagram, which will be available on the COASTAL Biogas homepage soon. The gathering was also used to lively discuss issues, such as requirements of seaweed collection methods on beaches and in marinas, technologies for pre-treatment of seaweed prior to anaerobic digestion in biogas plants and options for developing a training kit for project stakeholders.
