The first COASTAL Biogas Conference was held on 08 and 09 May 2019 in Malmö, Sweden. Prior to that, on 07 May, project partners met for the second Steering Group Meeting (SGM) to plan and discuss upcoming activities and further implementation of the project. During the conference, the eutrophication in the Baltic Sea, seaweed utilisation in the Black Sea, social benefits of biogas and certification of digestate were made a subject of discussion. The study tour led the participants to the Jordberga biogas plant near Trelleborg. The plant has once used mainly energy crops, but has been switching more and more to food industry waste. FNR, as Lead Partner, was leading the SGM and furthermore presented the COASTAL Biogas project in a presentation at the Conference. The next SGM and conference will be held in Roskilde, Denmark, 12-14 November 2019.
Duration of the project: July 2018 – June 2021
