This year, the 27th EUBCE - European Biomass Conference and Exhibition, organised by ETA Florence, takes place on 27 30 May 2019 at the Lisbon Congress Centre, Portugal. The Agency for Renewable Resources, FNR is an official supporter of EUBCE; it will be represented with a booth in the exhibition area, and will be actively presenting in sessions, as well as in side events.
The EUBCE is the most frequented international conference in the biomass sector. For more than 30 years, it has been serving globally as the annual meeting point for international biomass experts from research, development and the industry. The conference programme addresses topics from biomass to bioliquids and biofuels for heat and electricity, transport and biobased products. It covers all aspects of each value chain: from supply and logistics to conversion technologies, from industrial application of research results to impacts on the environment, from market and trade aspects to policy strategies, not least to the role of biomass as a source in integrated energy systems.
FNR is also represented with the H2020-funded project ADVANCEFUEL (coordinated by FNR), organising a workshop entitled Optimising value chains and ensuring the sustainability of advanced lignocellulosic biofuels with effective sustainability criteria and verification which is scheduled on 27 May 2019, 16:00-18:30 WEST.
The side event Paving the way towards clean energy and fuels in Europe: Talks with research, industry and EU Member States on bioenergy, advanced biofuels and renewable fuels which is organised by DG RTG, European Commission, supported by the ETIP Bioenergy Platform, as well as in collaboration with SET Plan Action 8 EU Member States, the RHC ETIP and EERA Bioenergy. This full day event will take place on 29 May 2019, 9:00-17:00 WEST. The event will encompass the entire innovation sequence of value chains related to advanced biofuels, renewable fuels, intermediate bioenergy carriers, and biomass based cogeneration of heat and power in roundtable discussions. It is expected that the views of the engaged EU Member States, research and industrial stakeholders and their strategic research agendas will result in recommendations for the way forward of R&I policy in the field. In this context, the accomplished project SEEMLA and on-going project ETIP Bioenergy SABS 2, both coordinated by FNR and funded by H2020, will be presented at this event.
In addition, all conference attendees are invited to visit us at our booth and to learn more about FNR and all other European and international collaborations we are involved in.
We are looking forward to meeting you soon on the occasion of the 27th EUBCE in Lisbon!
