FNR is celebrating International Day of Forests

The International Day of Forests on 21 March celebrates and raises awareness of the importance of all types of forests and non-forest trees for the benefit of present and future generations. Themes and activities associated with the day often emphasise education, conservation and sustainable practices, and aim to foster a deeper connection between communities and their local forests. The theme for the 2024 International Day of Forests will be - Forests and Innovation: New Solutions for a Better World.

Internationally, FNR is part of three EU projects focusing on forestry: ForestValue2, EUFORE and MoniFun. FNR is also part of the European Wood Policy Platform (WoodPoP) and the Strategic Working Group on Forests and Forest Research and Innovation (SCAR Forest). Nationally, FNR also funds projects related to forestry and wood use (link).
