Water JPI launched in February 2016 a Joint Call for proposals in the frame of the ERA-NET Cofund WaterWorks2015 to support research on the sustainable management of water resources in agriculture, forestry and freshwater aquaculture sectors. 25 national / regional funding organisations from 22 countries participated in this call, which was co-funded by the European Commission.
21 scientifically excellent projects, covering a wide range of disciplines (from social and economic sciences to nature sciences), and addressing a range of societal challenges related to Water and Agriculture are recommended for funding.
The German partners in the research project “Circular Economy Approach to River pollution by Agricultural Nutrients with use of Carbon-storing Ecosystems” (CLEARANCE) will be funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture via the project manager Agency for Renewable Resources (FNR) if the national application procedures are successfully completed.
