On 6 July, 2018, the kick-off meeting of the Interreg South Baltic (SB) funded project “COASTAL Biogas: Cluster On Anaerobic digestion, environmental Services and NuTrients removal” was taking place in Rostock, hosted by the lead partner FNR. Six partners from four countries, namely Denmark, Lithuania, Poland and Germany, as well as representatives from the Joint Secretariat and the National Contact Point were participating in this meeting. The main aim of the project is to use cast seaweed for anaerobic co-digestion and to hence reduce nutrient emissions to the Baltic Sea. The project recently started on 1 July, 2018 and has a duration of three years.
More information about the project itself is available here.
